Thermage Skin Tightening at Tiffiny Yang Aesthetics

My visit to Tiffiny Yang's clinic brought about a lovely surprise! They have expanded and revamped. Place is so much bigger, more posh and painted in hues of their signature Tiffiny turquoise colour. The nurses are donned in girly, sweet uniforms too! What a lovely sight!

Approximately one month ago, I visited Tiffiny Yang's clinic for my thermage skin tightening, face slimming treatment! I was absolutely excited before and during the treatment because Thermage uses medical grade radiofrequency skin tightening, resulting in a slimmer, more defined jawline and it actually complements botox. Read on for more details and pictures.

What is Thermage?
Thermage is a safe, non-invasive procedure that is clinically proven to help smooth, tighten and contour skin for an overall younger looking appearance. The treatment delivers natural looking results with little to no downtime – on all skin colours, on and off the face, all in a single procedure. Since there is no surgery involved you can generally return to normal activities immediately following the procedure. It has been approved by the FDA since 2002 and available only in the doctor’s office. The latest Thermage procedure offers Comfort Pulse Technology, significantly improving treatment comfort. It works on all skin types.

How does it work?
Thermage is a deep heating technology that uses radiofrequency (RF) to heat the skin. A smooth flat tip delivers Thermage’s unique radiofrequency technology, which safely heats the deep collagen-rich layers of the skin. This heat helps to tighten existing collagen that have become loose with age and stimulate the formation of new collagen over time, which reverses sagging, renews contours and improves the thickness and texture of your skin.
Each treatment takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour for the face. Only a single treatment is usually sufficient to deliver results.

Numbing cream was applied all over the lower half of my face and it takes around 20-30 minutes for it to set.

I was ushered to the comfortable waiting area and I passed my time by reading the informative books on aesthetics and beauty.

I noticed that after a few minutes, the numbing cream starts to become invisible and my skin feels slightly numb, especially the area around my lips, which only means that the numbing cream is taking effect.

When the time came, I entered the treatment room. The above pic is actually the thermage equipment used to carry out the treatment.

This is the tip that will be used to deliver the radiofrequency for thermage.

Square markings were imprinted on my face to assist the doctor with the process. I look like a map, lol.

Each time the treatment tip is applied, there will first be a brief cooling sensation, followed by a brief heating sensation and finally by another cooling sensation. The heating sensation is a sign that the deep layers of the skin are reaching effective temperatures for tightening, whereas the cooling sensation protects the topmost layer of the skin so it prevents blisters. Heat is absolutely essential to see skin tightening results. You may feedback to your treating physician on the level of heat to help maximize your comfort while maximizing results. Vibration of the tip also helps to reduce discomfort.

After around 45 minutes, the whole process was completed. There was slight discomfort and burning sensations during the process but everything was bearable because if it gets too hot, you can always let the doctor know and what she will do is to stop for a while so that everything cools down.

And my skin DID FEEL VISIBLY TIGHTER IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TREATMENT. I was really really surprised and very pleased with the results because i did not expect immediate results. I touched my face and it felt really different and smaller!!!

Best thing is, results continue to IMPROVE OVER TIME as the body rebuilds natural collagen and only ONE THERMAGE TREATMENT is needed for lasting results of 6-12 months. In most patients, measurable tightening and contouring gradually appears in 2 to 6 months following a single treatment session. Results can last for 1-2 years depending on your skin condition and the process of aging. It’s setting the clock back, but not stopping the clock. This is seriously awesome!!!

Here are more benefits of Thermage:
Depending on the area treated, results can include:
  • Improved complexion.
  • Tighter, more contoured skin.
  • Eyebrow lift.
  • Correction of hooding of the eyelids.
  • Correction of wrinkles around the eyes.
  • Improve laxity of the jawline and reduce neck lines.
  • Improved nasolabial folds.
  • Improved acne scars.
  • Tightening of skin of the abdomen, arms, thighs, and buttocks.
  • Improved cellulite.
More pictures of myself after the Thermage treatment, do note that these pictures are unaltered.

And recently, i received compliments that I look more radiant now and that my face is sharper too!

Thank you so much lovely Doctors, I always enjoyed my treatments here because I know I will be very well taken care of and I always leave as a very very happy customer :)

[Food Review] First 25 Cafe

A new cafe opens in the neighbourhood of Tanjong Pagar. Along Hoe Chiang Road is a cafe serving Asian-Western dishes with a twist!

I was very attracted to the interior decor of the cafe which is very posh and immediately teleported me to some part of Europe where tiles are bricked in white and large, majestic gold mirrors hung on the walls.

A perfect place for lunch, dinner or just to chill out over beer with friends.

Mushroom soup with 63 degree egg and truffle oil.

What made this mushroom different from others is that an egg is partially cooked inside and upon stirring, the whole concoction of egg and soup becomes so creamy! Perfect with the touch of truffle!

Charlie's Son Wings. This is the chef's special wings, robust in flavour and definitely left us wanting more... If you love chicken wings, this would not go wrong.

Smoked Uni Carbonara. This dish is one of the cafe's signature dish. Frilly pasta and clumps of slipper lobster meat in light, creamy sea urchin sauce. The onsen egg in the middle as well as the sprinkling of truffle soil garnished over the dish makes this very unique. Not your usual kind of carbonara.

65 Degree Grilled Striploin. Grass fed striploin with baby carrots, brussel sprouts, mushroom sauce. This was pretty average but I simply adore the presentation! It was such a lovely coincident that the steak came in a heart shape!

Besides dinner, First 25 Cafe also serves affordable set lunches.

[Food Review] Old Boys Gallery

Amidst the rows of pubs at Kampong Bahru is Old Boys Gallery, previously an art gallery now with an additional element of bistro opened by three friends who wanted a place for people to chill out and enjoy over delectable food and wide variety of craft beers.

A special place where food meets art, paintings of vibrant colours by local artists filled the walls.

The opposite side of the bistro has empty beer bottles neatly displayed, you can see the different types of beer they carry here.

As you walk down the bistro, you can find this very interesting 'Love Lock Bridge' just before the exit. Customers can write their names on locks and attach their locks to the metal railings there!

My choice of beverage was the French Rose Tea which came in a lovely pot.

We started with their Trio Plate of dishes. Priced at $21 nett, customers could choose up to 3 different kinds of starters available on the menu.

Crispy Porky!! One of my favourite over here at OBG. Cackling, juicy roasted pork served with kecap manis! Kecap manis is sweet dark sauce which is very popularly used in Indonesian cuisine. It compliments this dish extremely well!!!

OBG Wings. These wings are quite special and not too common in Singapore yet. They are marinated with Marmite and exudes a slightly sweet, yet robust and savoury flavour. Something definitely worth trying.

OBG Crab Cakes. Fresh crabs and mango relish makes such a perfect combination!

Vongole Aglio Olio. Venus clams sauteed in white wine sauce. I have a thing for pastas, especially aglio olios and I've learnt that although they are made from the simplest ingredients, it's not easy to execute them well. Here, OGB's rendition of Vongole left me very impressed and craving for more. Love it's unpretentious, honest to goodness taste!

Lastly, we finished off with Manster Burger! Topped with a thick beef patty, fried egg, with sweet caramelized onions, cheese, pickles and a special BBQ sauce served along with fries and vegetable, this would surely fill your stomachs leaving you very happy! Well, it's difficult to go wrong with burgers!
